Taylor House : OXFORD INDEPENDENCE AT COLLEGE SCHEME

Higher Education Funding (HEFCE) has enabled us to work on the development of an Independence at College Service. We aim to offer a range of support to students with disabilities in Oxford providing:

1) Flexible (morning/evening/night) care packages that can enable students with disabilities to make full use of accessible accommodation including:

personal and domestic support
carrying books or shopping
cooking
cleaning
laundry
ironing

2) A pool of people offering physical/leaming support for students with disabilities on campus during the day including:

note-taking
lip-speaking
physical help in setting up workshop and laboratory equipment
enabling a student to obtain information within lectures
reading aloud
assistance with private study and academic work
transcription
collecting books from libraries.
